LOW AND HIGHT VOLTAGE POWER GRID INVENTORY IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE POPC PROJECT

Problem identified:

Lack of sufficient knowledge about the possibility of using the existing powerline infrastructure for fiber-optic construction, no field reconnaissance, insufficient design process based on traditional data, non-integrated data obtained from various sources.

Challenges / Objective:

Inventory and assessment of the existing infrastructure of low and medium voltage power lines in terms of the possibility of using it in the development of fiber optic infrastructure. The project was carried out as part of the Digital Poland Operational Program.

Solution:

Inventory of 4,000 km of low and medium voltage networks with the use of mobile mapping systems (86%) and drones.

As a part of the inspection, a complete database on the existing infrastructure was obtained - data in the form of road imagery, 3D point clouds and GIS database.
